Stephen P. Mackey is a senior attorney with Young, Cohen & Durrett, bringing over 20 years of legal expertise to the firm. Stephen was born in Fort Worth, Texas, but grew up in Stockton, California. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 2002 at Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. Stephen started his own law firm in 2005, which he ran for 13 years, and was awarded the Super Lawyer Rising Star award in 2012 as a result of his success and experience at his law firm.

Stephen has practiced a wide range of disciplines throughout his law career, however, his main focus has always been in workers' compensation. He has worked as both an applicant and defense attorney in workers' compensation, but now practices primarily in defense at Young, Cohen & Durrett. Stephen is passionate about defending his clients and takes pride in his ability to settle cases effectively. He is excited to bring his many years of knowledge and expertise to the table, both in defense litigation and from running his own practice.
 

Outside of practicing law, Stephen enjoys spending time with his two sons and caring for his two cats. He also likes practicing jyotish, playing tabletop games, and experiencing the beautiful nature California has to offer.
