KEVIN

CLEVELAND

Kevin uniquely claims to be from all over the United States. Originally born in the south, he grew up in Colorado, lived for over nine years in the Washington, DC area and has now lived in California for well over a decade. He has also extensively travelled throughout the vast majority of the US. During his travels he picked up two bachelor degrees from the University of Maryland and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego, School of Law. While in school he received multiple honors relating to speech and debate, multiple academic honors and awards, completed a major research project relating to the need for, use of, and economic viability of alternative energy sources and helped to found the Journal of Climate and Energy Law.

Since graduating law school, Kevin has spent the majority of his career advising and litigating on behalf of a wide-variety of employers throughout the state from small family owned businesses to major corporations with thousands of employees. Most recently, Kevin was working as a Sr. Director of HR and helping to direct HR operations for thousands of employees across the United States. He has also guest lectured at multiple universities and done dozens of professional presentations throughout the state on a wide variety of employment topics. In his free time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter, playing piano, listening to live music, eating good food, and traveling whenever time permits.

Kevin is excited to join the firm and combine his practical HR business experience with his legal skills and knowledge in order to best advise employers on labor and employment matters as well as aggressively litigate on behalf of clients to achieve their goals. The two years he spent early in his career litigating on behalf of Plaintiffs also gives him the knowledge to be able to quickly assess the strengths and weaknesses in a Plaintiff’s case and find other reasonable solutions when prolonged litigation may not be the best route. So whether it is defending against a single plaintiff claim or a 50,000 person class action lawsuit or your company needs some advice or training relating to labor or employment laws, Kevin is happy to assist you however he can.
